VITAS Launches New Florida Location VITAS Healthcare has opened a new location in Florida, expanding the hospice provider’s footprint in its home state. The location will serve as a hub for staff providing hospice services across Pasco County, where seniors 65 and older represent 21.8% Dozier Hospice House.

Ohio-headquartered CommuniCare Health Services recently acquired hospice and home health provider Stonerise, expanding the company’s reach in its home state as well as West Virginia. The company was established in 2009. Hospice utilization among Medicare decedents in West Virginia reached 43.6%

The hospice, palliative care, and home health network Care Synergy has become the national center for the Community Aging in Place, Advancing Better Living for Elders (CAPABLE) program, developed by Johns Hopkins University. The Johns Hopkins School of Nursing launched CAPABLE in 2009 and since then has overseen the program nationally.

Home Health of the Ozarks and Hospice of Care Names New Director Missouri-based Texas County Memorial Hospital (TCMH) has appointed Cheryl Maley, registered nurse, as new director of Home Health of the Ozarks and Hospice of Care. The nonprofit hospice is supported by TCMH Healthcare Foundation’s Hospice Memorial Fund.
