VITAS is the first national hospicecompany to earn the AHA certification, though some local and regional hospices have done so.
CEO Raphael Akobundu recently sat down with Hospice News to discuss the couple’s experience of opening a startup hospicecompany in the competitive California market. As a nurse practitioner, what led you to begin a hospice program? I became a registered nurse in 2012 and received my nurse practitioner degree in 2017.
