Bartlett Regional Hospital Gets Green Light to Take Over Hospice Services, Executives Step Down

The hospital sought hospice licensure in the certificate of need state after Hospice and Home Care of Juneau (HHCJ) halted services last October, citing high staffing costs and insufficient nursing resources. The hospital in July completed its acquisition of a local nursing home, Wildflower Court.

The RN case manager will set up regular nursing visits at the patient’s home and will provide the bulk of the medical care. Home health aides provide help with activities of daily living such as bathing, when the patient requires that assistance. Chaplains are also available for spiritual care.
