Bristol Hospice has opened four new locations within a single week in three different states. Bristol Hospice, which is backed by the private equity firm Webster Equity Partners, employs more than 3,000 staff in close to 80 locations across 18 states. The remaining two are in Bangor, Maine, and Blue Bell, Pennsylvania.

The grief care startup Betterleave has established partnerships with two Texas Hospices, Sonder Hospice in Austin and LoveWell Hospice in the Dallas-Fort Worth region. Though the company still pursues those employer relationships, in late 2022 it began to seek partnerships with hospices.

Arkansas-based Hospice of the Ozarks has launched a non-medical care training program to improve caregiving support. The hospice’s new Care Coaching program is being offered at no cost to family caregivers. Providing care coaching could ultimately result in improved goal-concordant outcomes, he stated.

Julia Hospice & Palliative Refuels De Novo Plans Pennsylvania-based Julia Hospice & Palliative (JHPC) has reignited plans to launch a de novo after experiencing pandemic-related setbacks. Dubbed Julia House, the facility will provide inpatient hospice and serve as an outpatient palliative care clinic.

The bereavement care tech company Betterleave has secured $2.4 Austin-based Betterleave Bereavement launched as a venture capital-backed startup in March 2022. The company’s bereavement care platform is designed as a benefit that companies can offer their employees who have lost a loved one, a pregnancy or a pet.
