A client rarely brings me to tears. This week, a client brought me thisclose to a flowing stream of tears. I’m sure her nervousness about stepping out of her comfort created her chaos. I did what I could to lessen her nerves by immediately replying to her emails, providing clear instructions, giving her my phone number, answering her comments, meeting with her on Zoom, and connecting with her in our chat room.

The Painful Endings

How do we endure the endings in our caregiving experience and the ones part of our everyday life? The Olympics ended on Sunday. On Monday and Tuesday, I felt like a mess — sad, slow and somewhat hopeless. It was another ending. During our caregiving experience, we endure so much that ends. Gone are the carefree days, the spontaneous decisions to go and go anywhere, nights spent in deep sleep.
