The sign on the door said “American Brahmin Bookstore.” Someone was unpacking books inside, so with a name like that, we were curious. Soon Vic and I were hanging out at the new bookstore with a growing group of friends.

The recent divestment of home health locations by Amedisys (NASDAQ: AMED) likely will give the company a smoother course towards closing its acquisition by the UnitedHealth Group (NYSE: UNH) subsidiary Optum. Last week, Amedisys announced the sale of the locations to the home health and hospice provider VitalCaring for an undisclosed amount, according to a filing with the U.S.

With increasing need for programs that aid caregivers, RUSH University Medical Center’s Caring for Caregivers (C4C) as an example of a hospital service that assists family members and friends who care for adults 60-years and older in their homes. The Need for Caregiver Support C4C is part of a nationwide effort to support the more than 55 million Americans (about 21% of the U.S. population) who provide care for family members with chronic and serious conditions.
