Kauai Hospice Recruits Retired Emergency Doc as Medical Director. Dr. William “Monty” Downs is stepping into a new role as medical director of Hawaii-based Kaua‘i Hospice after retiring from 50 years in the emergency department at Wilcox Health Medical Centert. Wilcox Health is part of Hawaii Pacific Health.

Hospice and palliative care will be a “strong focus” of services provided at the new senior living facility, Heartlinks Adult Family Home, said Shelby Moore, the organization’s executive director. The nonprofit also offers adult and pediatric palliative care and grief support services in eastern Washington and surrounding regions.

Hospice of the Chesapeake Appoints New CMO Maryland-based Hospice of the Chesapeake recently named Dr. Marny Fetzer as its new chief medical officer. Fetzer is currently system medical director for palliative care and hospice services at Illinois-based Ascension Health.

Empath Health is the parent company of Tidewell Hospice and Suncoast Hospice, and offers a range of other senior care services. The company provides hospice, home health, palliative and personal care to more than 12,000 patients daily across the Tampa Bay and Southwest Florida areas. Both Wade and Jacoby joined Jet Health 2021.
